Multiple Pathways
to End Hunger

No single program can solve hunger. We operate four interconnected programs โ€” each designed to reach a different population with exactly the food they need.

The Farm

50 Acres of Fresh Food for Milwaukee

The Hunger Task Force Farm is Wisconsin's largest urban farm dedicated entirely to fighting hunger. Located in Milwaukee, the farm grows over 300,000 pounds of fresh vegetables, fruits, and herbs annually โ€” all distributed free to families and pantries across the county. From asparagus in spring to winter squash in fall, the farm provides a steady supply of nutrient-dense produce that money alone can't replicate.

  • Certified organic farming practices
  • Seasonal CSA-style distribution to pantries
  • Youth education program for Milwaukee school groups
  • Farm-to-table events supporting the mission
  • Volunteer farm days every weekend in growing season

Mobile Markets

Fresh Food Where It's Needed Most

In Milwaukee's food desert neighborhoods, a full-service grocery store can be 5+ miles away without reliable transit. Our Mobile Markets bring a farmer's-market-style selection of fresh vegetables, fruits, and proteins directly to parking lots, community centers, and housing developments โ€” every week, free to anyone who comes. Six refrigerated trucks operate 18 routes per week, reaching 12 zip codes identified as food access deserts.

  • 18 weekly stops across 12 Milwaukee zip codes
  • Fresh produce, proteins, and pantry staples
  • Refrigerated fleet ensures food safety
