Senior Nutrition
Delivered with Dignity to Milwaukee's Homebound Seniors
For Milwaukee seniors facing mobility challenges, chronic illness, or transportation barriers, accessing a food pantry is simply not possible. The Senior Nutrition program bridges that gap — delivering monthly food boxes directly to the doors of homebound seniors aged 60 and above.
Each box contains 45+ pounds of food: shelf-stable staples like canned vegetables, proteins, and grains, supplemented with fresh produce when available from The Farm. Items are selected to meet USDA nutritional standards and are adapted to reflect the cultural backgrounds of Milwaukee's diverse senior population.
Beyond food, this program provides human connection. Volunteer delivery drivers complete a brief friendly wellness check at each door — one of the only regular social contacts some isolated seniors receive. Anomalies are reported to our community services team for follow-up.
Enrollment is simple: any Milwaukee County resident aged 60+ who has difficulty accessing food is eligible. No income documentation is required. Referrals come from social workers, churches, and self-referral.
